Classroom Presentations

Twice per month Mr. Friebel and Ms. King offer workshops during our achieve period, including:

Senior timeline, credit recovery, college applications, steps to enrollment at Shasta College, FSA-Id, FAFSA, high school 101, how to make and keep friends, scholarships, A-G recovery, ACT/SAT prep resources, preparing for college timeline, comparing financial aid award letters, online safety, college exploration and how to build a college schedule. 

In addition we offer the following guaranteed curriculum to every student.  We have linked each of our presentations. Enjoy! 


  • Middle school counselors introduce A-G requirements and assist students with creating a 4 year academic plan. They will bring this plan to their pre-registration appt with their high school counselor.


  • High School 101- The difference between high school and middle school, confirm that students have access to Aeries, how to be a successful learner, college class options, school resources.
  • A-G (classes and grades required), CTE (Pathways), the importance of GPA
  • Career Exploration with and how to use other resources on our website


  • Transcript (what went wrong and how to fix it, what went right) what type of post-secondary option will you have if you continue on the same path?
  • Stress management (how to find the right balance)


  • Junior Timeline, PSAT, SAT. ACT, test anxiety
  • Post-Secondary exploration
