Daily Announcements

Dear students and parents:
As many of you may have learned, last December the Shasta College Board of Trustees took action to exempt part-time Special Admit students, who are California residents, from paying enrollment fees.  This means that your high school students who are California residents are able to take Shasta College classes during any term and have the $46 per unit fee waived.  Please keep in mind that although the per unit fee is waived, students will still be charged the health and campus fee ($49.50 in fall and spring and $30.50 in the summer).  They must also purchase any materials necessary for the class; including books.
We encourage your students to take advantage of this opportunity. Thank you

Our Mission

Central Valley High School offers a college-like academic setting with its block scheduling as well as multiple extracurricular activities in a safe, disciplined, and progressive educational setting. Our instructors and staff are highly qualified, friendly and community-minded. Our students will be college and career ready upon graduation as they have many opportunities to pursue rigorous academic pathways including Advanced Placement (AP) and College Preparatory (CP) courses. Additionally, there are numerous Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs designed to prepare students for viable careers after high school. You are invited to browse our website and explore the many great programs that we have to offer. We look forward to serving you!

School Improvements

Over the course of last year and this past summer, Central Valley High School has gone through upgrades and changes. The cafeteria, also known as Talon Hall, has gone through a renovation and its capacity was nearly doubled along with a much more modern decor. One of the most exciting features includes the installation of state-of-the-art technology, including a 10 foot by 15 foot video wall used for displaying student video work during lunch. Additionally, the school also received a facelift by receiving new paint and lettering on the front of the school.

Community Garden

The Shasta Lake City Community Garden is located behind the CVHS football field. If you would like more information, please call (530) 275-1585 or drop by Shasta Lake Chiropractic at 4221 Shasta Dam Blvd Monday through Friday (9 am to 5 pm). A 20' x 30' plot is $60 per year. If you would like to take a look, schedule a visit with Chad Avery (Garden Coordinator) at 275-2371 or Kay Kobe (Garden Treasurer at 275-1585.
